Enfolding Ministry

“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares” (Heb 13:2)

What is it?

Think of Enfolders as mobile super-Greeters. Basically, each Sunday, Enfolders seek to identify and welcome non-members, gather contact info, answer questions, and invite visitors to the hospitality lunch. Above all, their job is to enfold outsiders into the community of the church by introducing them to others, learning about their background, and letting them know about our ministries.

Why it matters

By sharing the burden of enfolding visitors, you free the pastors to minister to existing members.

As well, we believe hospitality means more than greeting people at the door. We want to make sure people are introduced to others and rooted in our fellowship. To some extent this happens organically, but our goal is to be intentional so that no one slips through the cracks.

When and how often?

Usually one Sunday a month or less at either or both services.

On their scheduled day, Enfolders need to focus on visitors. This means avoiding lengthy conversations with fellow members. Visitor cards you collect should be reliably conveyed to the pastors. Importantly, if you cannot fulfill your scheduled turn, you are responsible to find your own replacement from among the Enfolders.

Please let Liz know if any dates don't work  so we can arrange subs.
