History

Phoenix URC was launched in 1996, beginning with a small group of families and individuals who shared a common desire: to see a vigorous gospel-centered church planted centrally in the Valley.

Admittedly, this work began in response to disturbing theological trends in the federation to which the core group previously belonged. Wanting to secure a better future for ourselves and our children, we set about exploring our options.

In 1997, after a brief period of independence, the congregation joined a new federation called the United Reformed Churches of North America. The URCNA today numbers over 120 like-minded churches. We’re continually blessed by the mutual encouragement, accountability, and service it affords.

Since our humble beginning, we have seen God's hand clearly at work. God has blessed us with the addition of individuals and families, wonderful relationships, fulfilling worship, substantive teaching, mission-mindedness, and an expectation that He has yet to do more than what could ever ask or imagine (Eph. 3:20). To God be the glory!
