Transfer of Church Membership

Church members switch congregations for a variety of reasons, such as relocating from one State to another or marrying outside of their denomination. When this happens a member must request from the elders a transfer of his or her membership to their new church home, whether to or from PURC.

Why it matters

At PURC we want to ensure that once a member leaves PURC they commit themselves to a local church that honors Christ, bears the marks of a true church, and aligns with their confessional convictions. We also want to ensure that they are adequately cared for so they may continue to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). Transferring membership signals that your commitment and oversight has formally shifted from one church to another.

Transfer from PURC

Contact your district elders to request a transfer of membership. Please indicate the name and location of the church you intend to join, as well as any pertinent information about your decision to move.

Transfer to PURC

Ask the Pastor / Elders from your current church to promptly email your membership credentials to elders@phoeniuxurc.org. Upon receiving these documents we can proceed with membership.
